Food: Where to eat and drink post-April 12th

After endless hours experimenting at home with different recipes and the occasional Yard Sale Pizza, it feels exciting to know that we can finally experience the amazing food scene that London has to offer. April 12th sees the end of what feels like an eternity in lockdown. Trying to find a booking has been almost impossible but luckily I have managed to book a table at Kudu Collective and Juliet’s Quality Foods.

Kudu, 119 Queen’s Road, Peckham

I have been so keen to try the South African inspired food at Kudu Collective since moving south. They offer a range of spaces, including Kudu, Smokey Kudu, and the soon to open Curios Kudu. Their dishes are made with a focus on supporting local suppliers and using their own homegrown ingredients where possible. If outdoor space is your priority then head to Smokey Kudu first and enjoy a cocktail on their terrace before heading to Kudu for the main event. Standouts from the menu for me include charred aubergine and sea trout.

110 Mitcham Rd, Tooting

I found this culinary delight through Instagram, this Tooting based space immediately caught my attention because it seems like almost everything is homemade, right down to the kombucha that I tried when I first visited. The staff are super friendly, and knowledgeable about what they sell. Their spicy shrimp patty brightened up a gloomy lockdown weekend for me and it makes me even more excited to head there for our booking. Check out their menu here.
